     Cheese - Foreign Type

     Report 32 - Released on August 05, 2020

In the European Union, sliced cheese supplies and demands are in good balance. The easing of
COVID-19 protective measures is helping revive the food service demands for cheese. However,
their demands are still lower compared to last year. Retail orders remain strong. Generally,
export sales are inconsistent. Despite fluctuations in sliced cheese intakes from one
southern European country to another, the regions overall orders are active. Contractual
loads of sliced cheese are also moving steadily to other non-European countries. Sliced
cheese inventories are low, and in some cases, they are not enough to meet the needs of
buyers. There are still ongoing negotiations for August deliveries. Although current prices
are stable, sellers are asking higher prices during negotiations. Sliced cheese production
     is steady.
